The hero
The name in terracotta and moss, with toadstools, a seedling and a flower, above a potted plant, a snail and tall grass.
Round terracotta letters with a little garden on top · v1.000
Mossbloom is a soft, round display face that has been left out in the garden: moss grows on every top edge, berries and tiny flowers hide in it, and every other letter or so carries a toadstool, a seedling or a bloom. Each part is its own layer, so the pot, the moss and the flowers all take their own colour.
Type tester
All five layers are stacked here in the hero's Terracotta, with rounded letters, fuzzy moss and glossy mushroom caps. Try the other gardens, switch Moss only on for quieter lines, or the layers off for Solid.

This preview covers Basic Latin and the garden extras. The full font adds every accented letter.
Features
A cozy garden font: round terracotta letters topped with moss, toadstools and flowers, in six layer fonts that stack in any colour, with 12 garden extras.
Shadow, Letter, Moss, Bloom and Cream stack into a full-colour overgrown title; Solid has the whole letter and its garden in one font.
Every top edge that faces the sky gets a cushion of moss, dotted with little red berries and cream flowerets.
About every second letter sprouts a toadstool, seedling or flower, and contextual alternates keep two of them from landing side by side.
Stylistic Set 1 drops the toadstools and flowers and keeps just the moss, for menus, subtitles and long lines.
A mushroom, sprout, daisy, leaf, snail, acorn, potted plant, watering can, two seedlings and two mossy dividers, typed like letters.
385 characters per font with a true lowercase, figures and punctuation, for Western and Central European languages.
Built-in icons
Each icon is a character in the font. Click one to copy it, then paste it into anything set in Mossbloom.
Case study
Farming and cottagecore games are full of things that grow, and their titles usually aren't. The type ends up as a nice rounded face with a leaf clipart stuck next to it.
I wanted letters that look like something from the garden itself: clay-pot terracotta with moss creeping over the top and a toadstool popping up here and there, in a form you can still type, recolour and drop into a game engine.
Each Mossbloom letter is built from five parts: a dark Shadow for the outline and depth, the terracotta Letter, the Moss on top, the Bloom layer for mushroom caps, petals and berries, and Cream for stems, dots and flower centres. They share identical spacing and kerning, so stacked copies sit exactly on top of each other.
Recolour them and the garden changes with the letters: cream letters with rose blooms, plum with honey-yellow mushrooms, grey stone with red caps, or golden toast.
The moss follows each letter's shape, settling only on the parts that face upward. Around half the letters also carry something taller, a toadstool, a seedling or a flower, and contextual alternates keep those from crowding together so a word looks naturally overgrown.
For longer lines there's a calmer option: Stylistic Set 1 keeps the moss, berries and flowerets but leaves out the bigger decorations.
The extras grow from the same layers: a red-capped mushroom, a sprout, a daisy, a leaf, a mossy snail, an acorn, a potted plant and a watering can, plus single and double seedlings and two mossy dividers.
Most sit on their usual Unicode codes; the acorn and the watering can use Private Use codes. Since they're drawn in every layer, a stacked mushroom gets its outline, cap and spots in colour like the letters.

FAQ
Mossbloom comes as 6 layer fonts (Shadow, Letter, Moss, Bloom, Cream, Solid) with the same spacing and kerning. Type the same text in each, stack the copies exactly on top of each other and give each its own colour. Mossbloom Solid also works on its own in one colour.
Stack the five layers and the colours do most of the work. The roundness and the fuzzy moss in the marketing art come from a bevel and a fine noise texture on the Letter and Moss layers, plus a soft drop shadow under everything. Add them in your design app, or keep the layers flat for a cleaner, storybook look.
